Lengis Hijau Promotes the Program to UK Trade Envoy

Richard Graham MP, the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Indonesia, visit to Indonesia from 25 – 28 February 2014 to develop partnerships with both state-owned and private companies in Indonesia. The program is designed to help promote trade in emerging and growth markets where the opportunities tend to be less well known.

In regards with the visit, The British Deputy Head of Mission, Rebecca Razavi cordially invite Yayasan Lengis Hijau to an evening reception with Richard Graham, MP and members of a multi-sector Trade Delegation from the UK on the 26th of February 2014 starting at 18:00 pm at the Residence of British Ambassador at Jl. Teuku Umar, Jakarta.

The reception attended by delegation from Indonesia and UK includes companies from energy, oil & gas, food & drinks, education, medical, automotive and aerospace sector. Putri Wilda Kirana, as liaison officer represent Yayasan Lengis Hijau attended this event. In this event Yayasan Lengis Hijau promotes the program in Bali and how the waste can be a renewable energy.

Greenfuels will cooperate with DKI Jakarta Province Government in October 2014 to set up biodiesel facility in Jakarta, the system will be similar with the system that currently used in Bali with smaller scale.

Since the main challenge of used cooking oil recycling program is how to get the raw material, James Hygate from Greenfuels and Richard Graham, Trade envoy will sounding this issue to the government and suggest the forming of regulation for used oil waste management.

On 15th March 2014, BPPT team accompanied by personnel from Bappeda Bali Province visiting Yayasan Lengis Hijau in Denpasar. This first visit is very interesting for both parties, for knowledge and information transfer. BPPT in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources provide guidance on technical assistance for the program that deals with technology application and renewable energy.

For the similar program to, this time BPPT mentoring waste oil recycling program in Bogor.

Professor Haruhiro Fujita,Ph. D., which is a researcher from Niigata University of International and Information Studies, and also support the recycling program in Bogor said that Yayasan Lengis Hijau can be an ideal pilot program for similar program in Indonesia.


Mr. Imam Paryanto, who is an expert in the field of biodiesel products and technologies  said that BPPT has been developing biodiesel technology since the year 2000. BPPT eager to share knowledge and give technical assistance to similar programs in Indonesia and fully support recycling program that currently run by Yayasan Lengis Hijau.
